Surprise! Baka to Test Anniversary Project “Comming Soon”
The comedy anime Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu seems to be making some kind of return to celebrate its anniversary! A Twitter profile featuring an image showing the silhouettes of the characters has been revealed, with the words “coming soon.”
The profile is named “BakaTest Anniversary” and its description simply says “Coming Soon.” Below you can check out the mysterious visual, which shows the main characters of Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu:
What is Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu?
Based on a light novel series written by Inoue Kenji (the same author of Grand Blue), Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu is a romantic comedy anime that was published between 2007 and 2015, totaling 18 volumes.
The first season of the anime premiered in 2010 with 13 episodes, while the second season aired in 2011 with another 13 episodes. That was the end of the anime run, which was animated by SILVER LINK.
The story is set in a school where students are divided into classes from A to F, with class A being the best and class F the worst. We follow the students of class F as they get into all sorts of crazy antics.
Author “Confirmed” There Will Be No Third Season
In September 2024, after the announcement of Grand Blue‘s second season, author Inoue Kenji commented on Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu, saying that “there will be no third season,” and that even the announcement of Grand Blue’s second season was “a miracle.” So, we’ll have to wait and see what this anniversary project actually means.
It’s worth noting the case of Kaleido Star, which, even years after the anime aired, recently launched a Twitter profile to promote merchandise and other series-related news — but this did not result in a new anime, despite the staff wishes.
