Saki Sato, a 23-year-old woman who worked at a nightlife establishment in Osaka, was formally indicted on April 21 after multiple assaults on her then-boyfriend, a man in his twenties — younger than her.

According to the Osaka police, everything began in January of this year when Sato called emergency services claiming she had a dispute with her partner. When officers arrived at the apartment the couple shared, they were met with a scene straight out of a horror movie: inside the fridge was a glass jar containing a severed human finger.

The man, when questioned, revealed that he had been physically assaulted several times and that, during one of those incidents, Sato cut off his left ring finger. The motive? Jealousy. She allegedly suspected him of cheating and, in a disturbing act, declared that “he wouldn’t be able to marry anyone else” before amputating his finger with a 40 cm axe she had bought online (damn you, internet).

But that wasn’t her only act of violence. Two months earlier, while still living together, Sato made an even more bizarre suggestion: she convinced her boyfriend that human nipples can grow back, and proposed that they “test it.” Completely submissive to her, the boyfriend agreed, and she proceeded to cut off his left nipple with scissors.

Their relationship began around two years before the incident, when the boy — still in high school at the time — found Sato on social media and fell in love at first sight. After persistent attempts, she agreed to date him. They began dating in May two years ago and started living together in July of the following year.

However, the cycle of abuse escalated over time. After the nipple incident, Sato discovered an unknown number on her boyfriend’s phone, which triggered the most violent episode: the axe attack. She reportedly told him he would never be with another woman, then cut off part of his left ring finger.

Photos found on Sato’s phone showed the boyfriend kneeling in pain, blood streaming from his chest. There was also a photo of the severed finger, further proving the level of control and emotional dominance she had over him.

Even after her arrest, Sato denied the charges, claiming that the boyfriend had cut off his own finger — a statement authorities deemed highly unlikely. The investigation also confirmed that on the day police were called, the victim had bruises on his face and nose, indicating further physical abuse.

As mentioned earlier, Sato worked as a hostess in a nightlife club. When police checked the club’s official website, they found profiles of all the women who worked there. And guess what Sato’s profile said her ideal type of man was? “Someone who follows all of my orders.”
