Otaku Burns Oshi no Ko Manga

In recent days, we’ve published several posts about how fans are reacting to the ending of Oshi no Ko, which began as a beloved manga with an excellent first episode (and likewise a great first volume) but, in the opinion of many fans, had a terrible ending.

If you want to see the spoiler details on how Oshi no Ko ends, you can check the summary here, and here you can also see that fans have started to attack the author, Aka Akasaka. Well, do you know what happens when we get an ending that displeases so many? Someone shows up to burn the manga.

A “fan” of Oshi no Ko decided to burn one of the volumes, specifically setting fire to volume 3 as you can see in the photo below:

The photo circulated on social media for a few hours until the owner of the photo identified himself and explained a few things. To begin with, Spookyssn (as he goes by on Twitter) said he only burned this volume (for now) because he wouldn’t burn volumes of Oshi no Ko with “good characters on the cover.”

You can see that the otaku chose the cover of volume 3 because it’s one of the few volumes where Aqua is alone on the cover; another such volume is 10. Aqua also appears on the cover of volume 7, but alongside Ai and Ruby. And why Aqua? Well, just read what happened in the story recently to understand why many people are upset with Aqua, and you can do that here.
