Fan Realizes Dream and Marries His Favorite Idol

Today, however, we have a love story with a happy ending. This case occurred in 2022 but has gained renewed attention this year. It’s the story of a fan who fulfilled his dream of marrying his favorite idol.
Fan Realizes Dream and Marries His Favorite Idol
Tomoe, the idol in this story, began her career in 2020 as a “substitute member” of a musical group. Over time, she became a permanent member, and during her idol days, she won over Mitsuo, a devoted fan. He was always there, supporting her in every way possible, until he fell in love with her.
“When I first saw her, I felt like I was looking at a shining gemstone,” said Mitsuo, now her husband. “Even though she was young, her performances were amazing and so cute. I decided to support her from then on.”
It’s worth noting a significant detail: Mitsuo was 44 years old and Tomoe 17 when they met. This age difference could have raised many red flags, but the story took an unexpected turn.
Mitsuo lived in Oita, while Tomoe’s performances were held in Osaka. He often traveled long distances just to see her perform.
The Idol Took the First Step
Although this might seem like a typical story of a fan falling in love with his idol, it was actually Tomoe who made the first move. “I felt that he was different from other fans. I could trust him and share my problems, things I would never tell anyone else,” said Tomoe. “When he didn’t show up at one of our shows, I found it strange. I started looking for him on stage, and without him in the audience, I felt empty. That’s when I realized I liked him.”
To Mitsuo’s surprise, it was Tomoe who confessed her feelings. He was initially incredulous, thinking she might only like him as a fan. However, after realizing it was something deeper, Mitsuo accepted, and they started dating. Shortly after, Tomoe graduated from the idol group, and their relationship became public.
Challenges Due to Age Difference
Their age difference caused some controversy. Mitsuo’s friends were skeptical and even jealous. Many thought he was being deceived by Tomoe, given her youth and cute appearance.
A week after their relationship began, Mitsuo decided to meet Tomoe’s parents. Her mother, who is the same age as Mitsuo, initially opposed the relationship. She asked if they intended to get married, which made Mitsuo anxious. “What? You’re dating but don’t plan to get married?” she asked. Mitsuo had to write a “guarantee letter” to Tomoe’s parents, promising, among other things, to always inform them about their dates.
Shortly after, Mitsuo, at 47 years old, married Tomoe, who was 20. Today, the couple shares their daily lives on a YouTube channel with over 700,000 subscribers, where their videos are very popular.
Occasionally, to reminisce about their idol days, Tomoe performs personalized shows for her husband. After all, he has an idol living at home!
