The Fate series was born in the 2004 Visual Novel Fate/Stay Night, released in Japan and being successful, being adapted into an anime in 2006.

There are many curiosities about Fate such as possible routes that the creators thought of but never ended up being put in the game and also characters planned for Stay Night.

For example, Mash was supposed to appear in Fate/Stay Night but ended up being cut and became the main servant in Fate/Grand Order. Prior to the release of Fate/Stay Night, 4 members of the TYPE-MOON team gave an interview in which they showed their desks.
