The story of Sentai Taboo centers on a group of super sentais known as United Sentai Cross Ranger. The red ranger, Leo, is called for a private conversation with the professor who leads the team.
During the conversation, the professor explains that the Kaijus are becoming increasingly stronger, and the group faced issues in their last battle. He reveals that the rangers’ power depends on the unity of each member’s feelings, and if one ranger is out of sync, their combined attack loses strength.
In this case, the pink ranger wasn’t fully “connected” emotionally. To address the issue, Leo invites her out, and she arrives dressed up for the occasion.
During the outing, Leo confronts her about her performance in the last battle. She apologizes, believing Leo asked her out solely to discuss the battle. She starts to cry, making him uncomfortable.
