Cut Scene from Oshi no Ko: Ruby made a girl give up on being an idol
Did you know that Ruby made a girl give up on being an idol? And it was supposed to be shown in the last episode of Oshi no Ko but it wasn’t? Let’s check out this cut scene from Oshi no Ko!
Cut Scene from Oshi no Ko: Ruby made a girl give up on being an idol
Right at the beginning of the last episode of Oshi no Ko, we are introduced to an idol group and one of the girls is named Mana. She mentions that she will be attending a show of some idols she finds cute.
These idols are Kana, Memcho, and Ruby, as she mentions the Star Stage. The anime didn’t show more of her, but the manga did. Basically, during the show of the new B-Komachi, Mana arrives and watches them from the audience.
After seeing Ruby shining on stage, we have a flashback of Mana’s entire life as an idol, from when she was trying to break into the idol scene, to how she trained hard, and so on.
Then, seeing Ruby, she realizes a few things. She notices that she has fewer and fewer singing parts in the songs, she ends up being ignored in interviews, despite recording for TV concerts, she barely appeared, and that Ruby is what she wanted to become as an idol.
So, she realizes there, watching Ruby, that she can no longer continue being an idol, and she decides to abandon her career right then and there
She is 24 years old (1 year younger than Memcho), and she believes she has achieved her dream already, and that she can pursue a new path, being happy with what she has already accomplished in her idol career.
In the end, she leaves the stage, and as she looks at Ruby one last time, she says, “Please, never change.”
Ruby unknowingly made a girl quit her idol career, even without knowing it, although it was something that Mana realized about herself when she saw Ruby on stage.
As I mentioned, this scene takes place during the B-Komachi show, which the anime didn’t show, but it would be interesting perhaps to start the second season from there?
