If you use a lot of social media, you may have noticed a highly popular image being widely shared. This is especially common nowadays when famous Twitter profiles are leaking (often accurately) anime announcements.

The image in question is a poster claiming that the anime Tokyo Ghoul will have a remake set to premiere in 2025. The visual is stunning and very well made:

Some profiles on Twitter and Facebook have shared this image along with the information that the remake will be entirely faithful to the original manga and that Studio Pierrot will once again handle the production, as you can see in the screenshot below:

I’m not sure which page the screenshot above is from—it was simply shared in our WhatsApp group (by the way, join our Discord here). As you can see, it has 400 reactions, 95 comments, and 63 shares.

Well, I’d like to inform you that the image above is actually fan art created by the artist N.

Is the Tokyo Ghoul Remake Visual Real?

N. has a Twitter profile where he enjoys creating fan art that mimics the style of anime announcement visuals. For example, he made this one for Kagurabachi:

He explains on his profile that his original idea was to make a fake anime announcement for the manga Kagurabachi, one of the most popular series right now. However, he switched to Tokyo Ghoul because he thought it would be funnier.

He has even made others, like this one for Jujutsu Kaisen:

On January 1st, he even asked his followers for ideas on which manga he should create similar anime-style visuals for.

So, if you ever see a page discussing a potential anime announcement with leaked visuals, it might be worth checking N.’s profile to see if he’s the artist behind it.
