On Twitter, you can find various fan arts of her, often showing her dancing or accompanied by a hamster. Her name, Imadakedabuchitabemi, may be long, but it’s a playful pun that entices people to try McDonald’s cheeseburgers.

However, not everything is going smoothly, as Imadakedabuchitabemi is also sparking some controversy on Twitter.

J-Cast News reported that many people are complaining about seeing hentai fan art of Imadakedabuchitabemi when searching for the character with her official hashtag on Twitter. “It’s unacceptable to place a character like this in a sexual context,” commented one person online.

“It’s disgusting that adult content is being posted with the official hashtag, without a sensitive content warning, especially when it involves food,” another person said, expressing discomfort over seeing hentai fan art of the new mascot. Others have asked hentai artists to stop using the official hashtag: “At the very least, stop using the official hashtag for this.”

J-Cast contacted McDonald’s, which responded: “We hope everyone enjoys social media responsibly and with good manners.” They later issued an official statement on the matter:

“We ask that people refrain from reproducing or sharing content without permission. Please read our website’s terms of use carefully and use social media responsibly.”

This is not the first time that hentai fan art has been posted with official hashtags on the internet, and similar cases have always led to complaints.
