Hiroya Oku, the author of Gantz stated in a tweet on X that he was the first to draw big breasts in manga, as he says that in his time there weren’t many ecchi manga.

”You may not believe it, but when I made my debut in manga magazines, no one drew big breasts, even in youth magazines.
There weren’t that many ecchi manga. That’s why my elders used to call me a pervert just for drawing big breasts. I never thought we would see an era where big breasts would be the standard, even for shonen magazines…”’
”I don’t even think KochiKame’s Reiko had big breasts when I debuted. After all, I was reading the manga and wondering why they didn’t draw big breasts, but I think they ended up being really big at the end. I was reading, so yes.”
