Mangaka prohibits Fanarts due to fear of AI
A manga artist made a bold decision out of fear of having his art style and drawings used by AI drawing programs. Higuchi Kishin is the author of the manga series Ekijin no Karte and Dictators: Rettou no Dokusaisha, both of which are already finished.

And what decision did he make? In his Twitter profile, Higuchi Kishin stated that he was prohibiting, from this point forward, any secondary works that fans create based on his works.
In a post that reached over 7 million views, he stated that he is prohibiting all secondary works. What does this mean? It means that fans cannot create doujinshi or fanarts of the characters from the manga he created.
The reason for this is the author’s fear of AI, fearing that someone might use AI to create fanarts of his manga… It’s worth noting that AIs are already “learning” his art style, as you can see in the screenshot below, and the author has been notified of this on social media.
On his Twitter profile, Higuchi Kishin has been actively posting against AIs.
