Meet the “New Alya,” Jikan wo Tomete Dere Makuru
On the 24th of this month, the first volume of the light novel “Jikan wo Tomete Dere Makuru, Saikyou Muteki no Kurono-san” will be released. Written by Takinami Sakari with illustrations by Unamiya, as the title suggests, I’m calling it the ‘New Alya.’
If you don’t know about Alya, it’s basically a romcom about a girl who speaks both Russian and Japanese, and she’s in love with her classmate.
Since she secretly loves him, she says sweet things to Kuze (the boy she likes) in Russian, but in Japanese, she acts like a tsundere. The twist? She believes Kuze doesn’t understand Russian, but he does! Kuze knows Russian and understands everything Alya says.
That’s the plot of Alya. And Jikan wo Tomete Dere Makuru is essentially the same idea, but with a unique twist.
Meet the “New Alya,” Jikan wo Tomete Dere Makuru
In Jikan wo Tomete Dere Makuru, we follow Kurono, a second-year student attending a private high school in Tokyo. She’s a member of the archery club and is known throughout the school as an incredibly beautiful, aloof girl who never opens up to anyone.
But Kurono has a big secret! She has the ability to stop time. And what does she do when she stops time? She shamelessly showers affection on the boy she likes!
Yes, this is a light novel about a girl who acts cold and distant in her normal life, but when she stops time, she becomes a lovestruck mess, touching the boy she loves and saying sweet things to him.
However, the twist is that the boy, while frozen in place, is fully aware of everything Kurono does when time isn’t moving! We hope Jikan wo Tomete Dere Makuru gets a manga adaptation as well.
