Larry from Pokémon Scarlet and Violet conquered fans for being someone nothing special
Larry from Pokémon Scarlet and Violet is the Gym Leader of Medali’s Normal Pokémon in the Paldea region. He is a tired-looking man who doesn’t seem to be much into pokemon battles.
After completing the Gym Challenge at a traditional Japanese restaurant, the waiter calls out to you. Larry was one of the NPCs eating at the counter and in a super excited way he walks up to you, and then the battle starts.
Larry from Pokémon Scarlet and Violet is also one of the members of the Elite 4:
Larry says his boss asked him to change up his team a bit, so now he’s using flying types. Many fans said that the joke about him having normal and flying types is that this is a very common combination in games. Almost all regional birds are normal and flying, which makes them not very special.
The funniest thing is, this isn’t even your full-time job. Larry works in an office for the Pokémon league and happens to act as both a Gym Leader and a part-time member of the Elite 4 when his boss needs someone.

Many fans loved Larry, for his simple look, different from other super embellished leaders. And also for his internalized depression that makes him nice and lovable.
