Author of Onimai is involved in absolutely everything in the anime

Did you know that the author of Onimai is involved in absolutely everything in anime? In an interview published by Pixivion on March 9th with Nekotofu (author of Onimai), he reveals some information about his involvement in the production of the anime.

Regarding his involvement in the anime, Nekotofu says the following: “I am deeply involved, in fact, before I had the idea for this anime adaptation, I got help from a friend in the anime industry and asked several companies to come up with plans for an anime adaptation”.

With this speech by Nekotofu, we discover that it was the author himself who went after anime companies to offer his manga to become an anime! What thing huh? The author himself got tired of waiting and offered his manga to companies.

He also reveals that he thought it would be difficult to turn the manga into an anime due to the whole pandemic situation and such, but the company EGG FIRM was the one that approached the publisher Ichijinsha to turn Onimai into an anime.

As for the production of the anime itself, Nekotofu has this to say: “First of all, I participate in all the script meetings, I check the character designs and storyboards, I watch the recordings, check the illustrations, the goods etc”.

Remember the fact that the character Kaede had incredibly bigger breasts in the anime compared to the manga?

With that statement, we then know that it was with the full authorization and approval of the original manga author, who is involved in absolutely everything in the production of the anime!

So absolutely everything we see in the anime that was changed from the manga version was done with the full approval of the author and maybe it was his own ideas!
