Bocchi the Rock fans are reselling their guitars

Apparently Bocchi the Rock fans are reselling their guitars. The Bocchi the Rock anime premiered on October 9 and its last episode aired on December 25 in Japan, the protagonist Hotori Gotou plays guitar and joins a band to become popular.

Hotori apparently influenced many people in Japan to buy a guitar and start playing, but the influence doesn’t always result in a complete journey, that’s because guitars with similar descriptions began to appear on the online retailer site Mercari.

The image below shows that Bocchi the Rock fans are reselling their guitars on Mercari (a type of Japanese Free Market), the most interesting thing is the descriptions they have, because many products that were listed have a very similar story.

Many of the owners of the guitars above and who are now reselling it, put in the description that they bought it at the “end of last year”, many descriptions say that the owner used it for only 1 month or that they played it very few times and that the guitars are practically new .

Because of this, many people are assuming that these resellers are otakus who were influenced by Bocchi the Rock, bought a guitar to play, and played with the guitar a bit and now want to resell it.

This is how the Japanese reacted to guitars being resold:

“I’ll wait 6 months to buy a used one”

“I want to buy one too”

“I know a beginner who started playing guitar because of the anime, and he practices watching Youtube, there’s so much information out there he doesn’t know what to do.”

“There were people like that when K-ON broke out”

“It’s fun when you can play a part of the song”

“If you started because of anime, I won’t blame you if you want to continue, you should buy DVDs with instructions”

“I don’t think someone with such a small mind, who is influenced by a common anime, will be good at something like this”

“I heard that at the time of K-ON they had a lot of good guitars in good condition for resale, I wonder if the same will happen now”

“Most people will give up guitars, only a talented few will survive”

“They are repeating the tragedy that occurred during the time of K-ON”

K-ON is an anime similar to Bocchi the Rock in terms of having little girls play in a band, at the time K-ON was huge and hugely successful. Apparently at that time the same thing happened and many fans bought musical instruments influenced by the anime.
