Author denies that Bocchi the Rock came from Gotch Go Rock

Author denies that the title of Bocchi the Rock came from Gotch Go Rock! The author of Bocchi The Rock had to take to Twitter to deny a supposed connection between the franchise and the Japanese band Asian Kung-fu Generation. And what would it be?

Well, on the site of the Pixiv encyclopedia, it was said that the nickname of the protagonist of the series comes from ”Gotchi”, by Gotoh Masafumi, the vocalist of AKFG, and Hitori’s hometown, Kanazawa Ward, would be Yokohama City, the place where the band was formed. Not to mention the title ”Bocchi The Rock” which would be a pun on ”Gotch Go Rock”, the book by Masafumi Gotoh.

”While reading the Pixiv Encyclopedia, I came across an interesting fact that even I didn’t know. So that’s where I got the title from?”.

The author of Bocchi The Rock continues:

”Apparently a lot of people were using this site as a reference for information, so I thought I’d correct some important parts. Now I see that Bocchi-chan’s origin was also completely made up and I can’t keep up with the corrections!”.
